Project details
This family home in Monkstown had served its previous owner well for 40 years, but it was time for a reset to suit our clients and their young family. Every aspect of the house was dated including the layout.
Our brief was to redesign and extend to incorporate the many additional features required of a contemporary family home, e.g. home office, pantry, utility, ensuite. Equally important was an upgrade for energy efficiency and comfort.
The house was perfectly liveable so we were able to take our time over the design process, and we submitted a planning application 13 months after the first engagement. Works began as soon as planning was granted and were completed in line with the programme. Our landscape contractor began his works to the rear of the house immediately after handover.
This finished home is exactly suited to the owners needs and is as energy efficient and comfortable as a new home.
