Project Details
This was a great project. The brief was to turn a last generation family home into a next generation family home. Our clients had recently purchased this old house knowing that it needed total renovation, but it was habitable so they were able to move in. This gave them time to consider all their options and ensure that they made the right decisions for them. Almost a year and a half passed from first engagement to the day that we began working on site. In that time we worked together on plans, specifications and the budget. It took almost a year before we had the optimum project plan in place and could sign a contract. Over the following 6 months we submitted the planning application, and carried out our workshops and prepared our construction drawings.
The project began on the agreed start date, it ran to budget and was handed over on time too. This house is brilliant ‘family home’, and it achieved a BER A3 rating when tested at the end. The house has been left ready for solar panels in the future which will further improve the BER rating.
