Having previously spoken to a couple of architects to get a feel for the potential size of the renovation job on our newly purchased house, we were recommended to get in touch with Renova. At the time, we were living aboard, so the fact that Renova would project-manage the whole process was very appealing to us. After initial discussions and subsequent trips to their Kilcoole warehouse, we were completely sold on their service offering; really impressed with their attention to detail as well as open and friendly approach. This was paramount for us and made the decision easy to agree for Renova to carry out the renovation and retrofit of our house.

The assigned architect (Sian) was able to put our ideas onto paper and create a subtle yet pragmatic design which we just love. This included plans for future-proofing for additional members in the house in the years to come! Throughout the build, Barry and Richard were incredibly professional and welcoming to us when on site.

The Renova team provided a detailed breakdown of the associated costs on a room-by-room and task-by-task basis and gave us a specific timeline to completion. The granular detail allowed us to move budget around to cater for our needs. The difference in the overall cost was €5 and keys were handed over a day early!

An issue in relation to ESB was handled with dedication and care, resulting in a quick resolution.

Each member of the Renova team is a credit to the industry and their product is a fantastic service which I cannot rate highly enough.

PROJECT DETAILS

Our clients on this job lived abroad and had recently purchased this house as their home in Dublin. The house was old and cold and the decor and layout were dated. We were charged with bringing the house up to date from a energy rating, comfort and aesthetic point of view.

We carried out a full suite of retrofit works including installing a new insulated floor slab with underfloor heating in place of the original raised timber floor. The house was completely insulated and airtightness measures were carried out to eliminate draughts. Windows and doors were replaced too. A modern heating system was installed and the house was rewired. Every aspect of the building fabric was updated.

A small extension was added and the internal layout was altered to provide a modern layout with a utility room and downstairs wc, for example. Fittings and finishes were selected to suit the clients’ tastes.

This house was completed within budget and on time for our clients’ relocation from abroad. The house is effectively a brand new house within an old shell. Its accommodation and decor suit our clients’ requirements perfectly.
