PROJECT DETAILS
This house was suffering from neglect. It had been rented out for most of its life and had all the hallmarks of a house that no one had loved. RENOVA was asked by the new owner to transform it into a modern home. Effectively, they wanted us to rebuild the house completely. They wanted a new home in the old shell. The house needed to be comfortable and energy-efficient. It also needed new fixtures, fittings and decoration. The brief also extended to the driveway and back garden.
The clients agreed to a full package of retrofit works; dry-lining, new windows and doors, attic insulation, air-tightness and ventilation. A modern heating system was also installed, along with new electrics and low energy lighting. This was all agreed upon within one week of the initial consultation.
Naturally it took a little longer to select the finishes. A full package of finishes was required. Penny and our client selected all the finishes in the 6 week design phase before the works commenced.
The finished product is a brand new house. It has gone from being the worst house on the street to being the best. It is certainly one of the most energy-efficient and comfortable houses in the neighbourhood.
