I had been considering making major changes to my house for a number of years and I needed to find a company that could not only do excellent building work but also project manage and bring design expertise to the job. I did a lot of research and decided that Renova were that company. From the first meeting with John I was confident I would end up with the house I wanted.

Sian suggested wonderful ideas I never would have thought of and the workshops mean all the design decisions are made before construction begins making the whole process less stressful. The team at Renova are all professional and very good at their jobs. Several of my neighbours made a point of telling me how great “the lads” were during the construction phase, which is quite a compliment for a six month build in a terrace house.

When I moved back in I was very happy with the standard of work and the finished product, I got a lot of “wows” when showing family and friends around. I would have no hesitation in recommending Renova, they know their jobs, they do them to an excellent standard and are a pleasure to deal with.

Project details

This house was our clients family. They were born and raised in this house.

The house was a lovely family home full of memories for our client and their extended family. However, it was dated and cold. It had been extended on two occasions and the layout was a little higildy-pigildy. There was a fire breast in the centre of the house which restricted room layout. Our client decided that it was time to reimagine the house and modernise it.

We redesigned the layout to provide a large open plan living area, linked discretely to the sitting room. The kitchen was relocated to the brightest part of the house and utility space and a full size shower room were added downstairs. Removal of the chimney breast improved the rooms upstairs.

A full suite of insulation retrofit works were carried out. The client opted for the familiarity of a gas boiler instead of a heat pump, and the finished house is BER B2 rated.
